What Is God Like?
While the Bible teaches that there is only one God it is clearly conveyed throughout the pages of Scripture that there are three Persons in the Godhead. We see reference to this when Christ stated; “But now I am going to Him (the Father) who sent Me (Christ, the Son); …it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (the Holy Spirit) shall not come to you;…” John 16:5a & 7b It can be summarized this way: 1. God is three persons; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. 2. Each Person is fully God.3. There is one God. This is a hard truth for us to get our minds around but no less true because of its difficulty to comprehend. Much more time could be spent on this subject but for now it is important simply to lay the groundwork of this understanding as reference to this truth will be seen later.
