Is The Bible Truth?

In addition to overwhelming historical and archaeological evidence, proof that the Bible can be trusted is written within its own pages. It is through the prophecies of Scripture and their perfect fulfillment that we see that only an all-knowing God could be the author of such a document.Consider a couple of examples:It Was Prophesied:“But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity.” Micah 5:2 This prophecy declared, hundreds of years before its fulfillment, that a promised Messiah (savior) would be born in Bethlehem – not Jerusalem or any other city, but Bethlehem Ephrathah, too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity.” Micah 5:2

This prophecy declared, hundreds of years before its fulfillment, that a promised Messiah (savior) would be born in Bethlehem – not Jerusalem or any other city, but Bethlehem.

Prophesy Fulfilled: ” Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child. While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.” Luke 2:4-7

As it was prophesied, Jesus was born in Bethlehem.It Was

Prophesied: “…A band of evildoers has encompassed me; They pierced my hands and my feet.” Psalm 22:16bThis prophecy declared that the coming Messiah would be killed by crucifixion. This is an amazing prophecy in that it was written 800 years before crucifixion was ever used as a means of punishment.Prophesy Fulfilled: “And when they had crucified Him, they divided up His garments among themselves by casting lots.” Matthew 26:14-15

As it was prophesied, Jesus was pierced in His hands and feet.This is just a very tiny sampling of the many prophecies and their fulfillment in Scripture.
